Curl Education & Community

The Curl Code podcast

The Curl Code explores individual stories of how learning to embrace our natural hair can be the start of a journey to embracing and empowering our most authentic selves. Each episode reveals a unique story, starting the day someone acted on a decision to learn about caring for their curls, activating a process of transformation and discovery about how they view themselves, the world, society, and their curls. Wafaya Abdallah, owner of Curly Oasis curl salon and curl educator based in Rockville, MD, leads conversations including practical advise on hair and self care, running a team- based business with co-elevating team model, and how uncovering our most authentic selves allows us to vibrate at our highest frequencies.

OASIS IS A SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS SALON

The team supports our communities through a variety of initiatives. We host grass roots and socially just organizations that come to share their message of hope and more! And of course we host many opportunities for curl education. We also support troops by offering special time slots for soldiers and families of wounded soldiers at the Walter Reed Medical Center. We go to local schools to teach about clean beauty and ethical, team based business model. We support our local high schools through sponsorship. We host grass roots and socially just organizations that come to share their message of hope and more!
